Community Anchor Service – Batley

Supporting local people, strengthening community connections, and creating lasting change in Batley.
TCD’s Community Anchor Service works alongside residents, community groups, health partners, and local organisations to identify local needs and develop meaningful solutions across Batley. As the Community Anchor for Batley, we help build connections, strengthen community capacity, and support grassroots groups to deliver activities and services that make a positive difference.
Working closely with Primary Care Networks, Kirklees Council, voluntary sector organisations, and local communities, we aim to ensure that local voices shape local services. We support both new and established groups to grow, collaborate, and respond to the needs of the people they serve.
Together with our partners, we are committed to creating healthier, more connected, and resilient communities by:
* Mapping and promoting community activity across Batley
* Listening to residents and identifying emerging local needs
* Supporting community groups to develop and sustain their services
* Encouraging partnership working and shared solutions
* Strengthening links between health, voluntary, and community sectors
* Supporting social prescribing and community-based wellbeing initiatives
* Creating opportunities for local people to influence decisions and shape services
* Building community capacity, reducing isolation, and improving wellbeing
By bringing people, organisations, and resources together, TCD helps create a stronger, more inclusive Batley where individuals and communities can flourish.
