TCD Healthy Futures

Supporting adults across Kirklees to improve wellbeing, build confidence and take positive steps towards their future.

TCD Healthy Futures is a community-based wellbeing and progression programme for adults aged 18 and over across Kirklees who are economically inactive and may be experiencing barriers to moving forward.

The programme provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where you can meet others, improve your wellbeing, develop confidence, explore new skills and consider your next steps at your own pace.

Who is the programme for?

TCD Healthy Futures is for people aged 18 and over who are not currently working or actively seeking work.

You may be experiencing:

* Poor mental health or reduced wellbeing
* Social isolation or loneliness
* Low confidence or self-esteem
* A long-term health condition
* Caring responsibilities
* Difficult life circumstances
* A lack of motivation or direction
* Barriers to training, volunteering or employment
* A feeling of being stuck and unsure about what to do next

You do not need to have a specific goal when you join us. We can work with you to identify what matters to you and what you would like to achieve.

What happens at Healthy Futures sessions?

Sessions are informal, friendly and supportive. There is no pressure to share anything you are not comfortable with, and everyone can take part at their own pace.

Sessions may include:

Wellbeing and peer support

Time to talk, connect with others and explore practical ways to look after your mental and emotional wellbeing.

Movement and physical wellbeing

Accessible movement and physical activities designed to support your wellbeing, confidence and connection with others.

Creative and confidence-building activities

Opportunities to try something new, develop confidence and discover interests and strengths in a relaxed environment.

Social connection

Meet other people in your local community, develop friendships and reduce feelings of isolation.

Volunteering opportunities

Explore volunteering and community opportunities that can help you develop confidence, skills and experience.

Individual wellbeing and progression support

One-to-one support to help you identify your goals, recognise your strengths and work towards the things that matter to you.

Skills, training and employment support

If and when you feel ready, we can help you explore training, develop skills, prepare for future opportunities and consider your options around employment.

Your journey, your pace

There is no pressure and no judgement.

Everyone’s circumstances and goals are different. You might initially want to focus on your wellbeing and confidence before thinking about anything else. For someone else, volunteering, training or exploring employment might be the right next step.

Our team will work alongside you to help you identify what you want to achieve and support you throughout your journey.
