Real Stories, Real Impact

At TCD, we’re honored to hear how our work makes a difference. These heartfelt testimonials remind us why we do what we do—providing hope, support, and connection when it’s needed most. 🦋💙 Thank you to everyone who trusts us with your journey. Together, we can keep making a change.

TCD means to me quite a lot it’s a place where you can go and meet other people who are in similar positions to what you are and it’s a great place to get help everyone there from Volunteers and service users offer great advice and support and everyone is always accepting of people TCD is a very good Charity and has helped me a lot over the years.

TCD has helped me to open up and talk about my feelings instead of bottling things up. The people there are so welcoming. Thanks TCD 😊

TCD is my safe place, I know i can be myself and not be judged, without them I wouldn't be here today. I can't thank them enough for all the help and support I have received.

The sessions have helped our son get stronger again and gain some of the confidence back we can now see that little spark coming back into his life. So keep doing what you're doing Lukes Lads. An amazing job

Taking part in the workout that Butterflies provides is an outlet for me to work off the stresses and tensions of the week and is a brilliant way of releasing endorphins.  The well being talk that follows the workout gives me a chance to talk through any difficulties that may have arisen during the week

Butterflies is a support group that is friendly, compassionate, non judgemental and above all, confidential and professional

Training with Butterflies has proved to be a lifeline for me and has kept me sane through some testing times.  Dealing with a number of difficult personal issues had left me stressed, exhausted and struggling to focus

What a great name for a great aim!.... Keeping the joints 'oiled ', the grey cells 'primed', and the chuckle muscles well & truly 'employed

The weekly sessions of circuit training and group chats have been a godsend to us as a family and not only the once a week sessions but the after support on a weekly basis is next to none

Strictly classes start the week off with a buzz.I don't know what I would do without them. No other classes can compare with them.

It's really good 'getting together' with the 'girls', making new friends, chatting and having such fun, while gaining confidence in a new 'skill'!

I'd reached a point in my mental health recovery that nothing was working anymore. I'd even started to go backwards. A family member had told me about Luke's Lads and I nervously went to a session. It was transformative and  I've not looked back since. The combination of exercise followed by conversation is the perfect combination and I leave every session uplifted and in a positive frame of mind.

Luke's lads has showed me how to speak out more without bottling stuff up like I used to for many years, without this group I’ll prob being still bottling up and make myself really ill, the work out also helps

Butterflies helped me get through a very difficult & emotional time. They support me and give me a safe space, where I feel comfortable to show my vulnerability, talk about my feelings and listen to me without judgement. They have helped me and continue to help me be the best version of me, not loose hope which has brought me brighter days again. I’d have been lost without them, they make me smile & laugh again!!

I didn't have the chance of ballet classes, in my younger days, so the positions (and their names) are very much 'a learning curve'......& maybe  I'll never dance Swan Lake, but my balance, strength & coordination are definitely improving
